Tourism in Peru : A constantly gowing industry

2010 is again a victory of the Peruvian Economy, particularly in the tourist industry. Indeed, the number of travellers that came to Peru, cradle of the Incas and Pre-incas civilizations, surpassed the 2009 datas, that already incresed in comparison with 2008, in spite of the economical crises and the A-flu epidemic.
De fait, quasiment 750 mille personnes, péruviennes et étrangères, ont visité les 71 zones naturelles protégées par l’administration nationale en 2010, soit 18% de plus que l’année précédente.

In fact, approxiately 750 000 people, Peruvian and foreigners visited the 71 protected natural areas in 2010, which makes an increase of 18% in comparison with the previous year.
The visitors interest for those Peruvian regions increases, due to the incredible diversity of tourism.

According to a study from the State National Services for the Protected Natural Areas, the national nature reserve that attracts the biggest number of tourist is the Titicaca Lake, with a 30% of the total number of visitors. On the second position, we find the Pacaya Samira national reserve, with 18% of the visitors, thanks to its Amazonian wildlife. The Huascaran National Park with the highest mount of the continent, is in the 3rd position, followed by the Paracas reserve, proof that responsible tourism increase, and then we have the Tingo María National park, and Tambopata nature reserve.

Tourism is the 3rd source of currency in Peru. Peru has the biggest growth rate regarding tourism in South America. In a few years, we can imagine that Peru is going to overpass Chile, Argentina or even Brasil, that can not praise such a touristic diveristy, in the cultural or geographical level.
Moreover, the country’s potential isn’t totally used, because some regions such as the North are unknown from the tourists, even if it worth the visit.

According to a State study, 94% of the tourist that visited the country are satisfied. Peru´s attractions are not only historical or archeological, but are also linked with the authenticity, the gastronomy that is increasingly famous and the huge possibility of sport activities, with adventure tourism.
