… Arequipa and The Colca Canyon …

Known as the “White city” thanks to the color of the rocks present in the architecture, this city is one of the most important of the country, and the inhabitants often defended the city from the political issues of Perú. Around Arequipa, there are a lot of nice villages with deep traditions such as the agricultural uses « Los andenes » of chilina, socabaya, paucarpata, characato and sabandia.

The name comes from the quechua “Arequipai” that means “Yes, stay”, and it is not a simple coincidence, it’s a reality. Through the streets, people, we feel a friendly atmosphere in this city.

Arequipa is also the door to the Colca Canyon. The deepest Canyon of the world, with its 3.400 m of level difference, it is surrounded by typical villages where we can find Inca ruins, hot springs and a large wildlife with the Andin condors for example. All those elements offer spectacular pictures.
