Day 1 / Welcome to Peru
You will be welcomed at the airport. Transfer to your hotel in Miraflores, one of the best district of Lima, in front of the Pacific Ocean. You will meet the Evasion Perou’s staff. Introduction to the country (culture, history, issues) and of the tour itinerary.
Day 2 / Lima, City of Kings
Guided tour of the city. Guided tour of the historical center, listed at UNESCO World Heritage, and of the lively district of Barranco, previous fisherman’s village, turned to the Lima’s inhabitant’s seaside resort.
Day 3 / Guided tour of Cusco
Flight to Cuzco, called the World’s Navel. Walk in the mystical city streets, where Inca foundation and the Spanish colonial architecture merge. Discovery of the Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral, the Templo del sol, and the Inca’s ruins of Sacsahuaman, and Qenq’o.
Day 4 / Discovery of the Sacred valley
Departure for the Inca’s Sacred Valley. Guided tour of the Qenq’o ruins and the ancestral city of Pisac, built in the mountainside, walk down the terraces, to the village main square where takes place one of the biggest craft market of Peru. Discovery of the Urubamba valley and guided tour of the village and the Inca’s fortress of Ollantaytambo.
Day 5 / Inca’s heritage
Departure to the Maras Salinas, a spectacular place where thousands of salted pools are located in the mountain side and still in activities nowadays. Then Discovery of the amphitheater-like terracing of Moray (Inca’s agricultural technique example), and the nice village of Chinchero, with its surprising colonial church built on Inca’s foundations. Then road to Aguas Calientes, called Machu Picchu Pueblo, by the Andes train.
Day 6 / Machu Picchu
Full day tour of one of the most beautiful World Wonder, the famous Inca citadel built on top of the mountains. Discovery of an impressive site and civilization, in the heart of exceptional landscapes. Our guides will share with you all the mysteries of the sacred place. Come back to Ollantaytambo by the Andean train. Return to Cusco.
Day 7 / Cusco – Puno
The Andean landscapes slowly turns, we leave the steeped mountain that surround the Inca capital to go to the Altiplano, plateau located at 4.000 m high that goes from Perú to Bolivia. On the road, guided tours of the archeological sites of Raqchi, Pukara and the village of Andahuaylillas. Welcome to Puno, folkloric Capital.
Day 8 / Meeting with the native people
Navigation over the Titicaca Lake. Guided tour of the floating island made of reeds on the ones live the Uros Indians since centuries. Then, Discovery of the native people from Amantani Island. They will introduce us their everyday Work: agriculture, animal husbandry, handmade cheese production. Overnight in a family.
Day 9 / Discovery of the Lake
Discovery of Taquile Island, where the local inhabitants still live with the ancestral uses. On top of the island, exceptional panoramic view over the Royal Mountain Chain of Bolivia. Those unique landscapes and local tradition will make you travel in time. Navigation back to Puno.
Day 10 / Come back to Lima
Morning flight to Peru’s capital city. You will be welcomed at the airport and transfer to the hotel in Miraflores. Free afternoon to get some rest from the tour, buy the last memories, or to wander along the Pacific.
Day 11 / Go to Ecuador
Transfer in private car to the airport for your flight to Quito. You will be welcomed at the airport and transfer to the hotel in Quito.
Day 12/ City tour of Quito – Cuicocha Lake
Visit the colonial Quito, cultural heritage of humanity. In the afternoon, departure to the San Clemente community. Short hike on the edge of the crater’s Cuicocha Lake. Overnight in a family of San Clemente community near Ibarra.
Day 13/ Discovery of the San Clemente and Pechuge communities
In the morning, discovery of this community lifestyle: explanation of Andean medicinal plants, crops and seeds and lifestyle in the Andes. In the afternoon, departure to Otavalo. Along the way, visit the Pechuge community: artisans making products in wool and alpaca, musical instruments (panpipes). Accommodation in Otavalo.
Day 14/ Otavalo Market
Visit Otavalo market: artisan market but also typical fruits and vegetables market. By early afternoon, continuation to Lasso. Accommodation in Lasso.
Day 15/ Quilotoa Lake
Departure to Quilotoa community located at 4000 meters altitude. Descent into the crater of the lake. (Option): possibility to return by mule. Visit a workshop in Tigua (naive painting of sheepskin). Back to Lasso. Accommodation in Lasso.
Day 16/ Cotopaxi Volcano
Departure to the Cotopaxi volcano. Excursion in the national park on the edge of the Limpiopungo lake, at 4000 meters to observe the park’s wildlife: terns, cara caras, wild horses and if we’re lucky, we will see the majestic flight of a condor. Back to Quito and accommodation in the Ecuador capital city.
Day 17/ Lasts moments in South America
According to your flight schedule, our staff will arrange your departure. Transfer in private car from your hotel to the Airport. End of our services. Evasion Pérou wishes you a pleasant flight.
