This trek will lead you to the Apurimac valley, where you can enjoy the most beautifull views over the snow-covered mountains and the hills of the Sacred Valley.
You will arrive at the Choquequirao archeological site, no famous in the tourist industry, bu one of the most impressive site in Perú, whom the nme means « The gold cradle ».

Day 1 / Cusco, Cachora, Chiquisca

Departure from Cuzco to Cachora, 2 850 m high, starting point of the trek. Nice road, with beautifull landscapes and inca’s archeological sites. Begining of the hike with the Capulichayoc pass (2800 m high), and great view point over the Apurimac Canyon, then walk down the Chiquista camp (1930 m high).
Walk duration : Around 7 hours.
Level difference : – 1000 m

Day 2 / Chiquisca, Playa Rosalina – Marampata – Choquequirao

We will walk down to the Playa Rosalina (1550m high) and walk up to Marampata (2850m high), village where we have a nice view over Choquequirao, in the middle of a dense vegetation. On the afternoon, we will take the Choquequirao ruins path (3033 m high), a « Little Machu Picchu », its beautifull ruins are scarcely visited. Camp on the site.

Jour 3 / Choquequirao – San Ignacio – Carmen

Matinée consacrée à l’exploration du site Inca arquéologique de Choquequirao (3033m). A ce jour seulement 30% du site a été restauré, il s´étend sur 1800 hectares, le reste repose toujours sous une végétation intense. Puis visite des lieux environnants, avec notamment des vues magnifiques sur le canyon Apurimac. Redescente vers la partie la plus profonde du Canyon d’Apurimac, la Playa de San Ignacio (1500m) puis nous continuerons notre marche jusqu’au campement des magnifiques jardins de Carmen, situé à 2 000 m d’altitude.

Day 4 / Carmen, Huanipaca, Cusco

End of the trek with the walk to Huanipaca, at 3 150 m high. On our way, guided tour of the Tambobamba Hacienda (2500m high), valley cnsidered as the most fertile to cultivates potatoes and corn, then visit of the village of Pacobamba. Then, walk to Huanipaca where a private car will be waiting for you to go back to Cuzco.
Walk duration : 5 hours.
