This trek, the most famous in Perú, starts from Cusco and ends in the incredible Inca fortress. As you walk in the Inca trail, you will discover a large variety of landscapes, and people with deep traditions.
This trek includes Inca ruins visits, mountain landscapes, forests, and the amazing Machu Picchu.

Day 1 / Cuzco, Sacred Valley, km82, Wayllabamba

Departure from Cuzco to reach the 82th kilometer of the Urubamba Valley (2800 m high), starting point of the trail. You will meet our porters team. Walk along the Vilcanota river, and lunch in Miskay (2700 m high). Guided tour of the archeological site of Patallacta. Camp in Wayllabamba (3000 m high).
Walk duration : Around 6 hours.
Level difference : – 100 m / + 300 m.

Day 2 / Wayllabamba, Warmiwañusca – Pacamayo

The hardest part of the trail. Walk to the Warmiwañusca pass at 4200 meters high where you can enjoy the panoramic view over the mountains and the Veronica mount. After the lunch, hike down to the Pacaymayo valley. Camp (3600 m high).
Walk duration : Around 7 hours.
Level difference : + 1200 m / – 600 m

Day 3 / Pacamayo – Runkuraqay – Wiñawayna

During this day, you will discover archeological sites and wildlife. You will walk in a pass at 3 900 m high, before walking down to the sites of Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Puya Patamarka (mountain village), and Wiñaywayna (2 650 m high). Camp around the sites.
Walk duration : Around 7 hours.
Level difference : + 300 m / – 1250 m

Day 4 / Wiñawayna, Machu Picchu, Cusco

In the early morning, departure to the ” Inti Punku “, the door to the sun, to reach Machu Picchu (2400 m high). This is the magical moment of the trail : the end of the hike and one of the 7 Wold Wonders. The morning lights offer an unforgettable moment. Guided tour of the archeological site. Road back to Cusco.
Walk duration : Around 3 hours.
Level difference : – 250 m
Trail closed in February for anual maintenance.
